‘Tech, Style, Comfort, and Driving Pleasure’

Redesigned for 2021, the Mercedes-Benz GLA250 is not only a significant improvement over its predecessor but it packs enough tech, style, comfort, and driving pleasure that it will make it stand out from the pack.

The GLA nameplate is part of the automaker’s current SUV nomenclature, under which GL stands for Geländewagen, or off-road vehicle, and the A reflects the vehicle’s place in the pecking order, in this case, the smallest, or A-Klasse.

For the uninitiated, the A-Klasse is the Stuttgart-based automaker’s entry-level vehicle, which typically would imply it’s the smallest and least expensive offered.  But that doesn’t mean that any less attention is paid to it. Indeed, recognizing that auto buyers may first be enticed into the brand with such a vehicle, Mercedes fully imbues the GLA250 SUV with the finest of what it has to offer.

The vehicle made its debut as the Concept GLA at the 2013 Auto Shanghai show and a production version was unveiled later that year at the Frankfurt Motor Show.  It received a mid-life refresh in 2017 and of course a complete redesign for the current model year.

A rather elegant white 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLA250 made on a warm late winter day.  The subtle slope of the hood and the coupe-like cut in the rear gave it a rather muscular stance, yet it carried the classic design traits of a Mercedes, inventor of the automobile.
