Like all recent Beetles, the Final Edition is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four banger that develops 174 horsepower that drives its front wheels via a six-speed automatic.

The powertrain is enough to move the Bug from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.2 seconds. Indeed, it feels downright energetic when starting from a standstill but less so when the need to overtake an auto on the highway comes up. Indeed, it’s important to note that, while this Bug is indeed all dressed up, it drives no differently than other recent Beetles.

BOTTOM LINE

The Final Edition is a wonderful sendoff for the Beetle, even if the iconic vehicle comes back yet again. While the package doesn’t change how it drives, which is quite satisfactory, its special looks and premium interior make it a keeper.
