The electrically-assisted power steering, although responsive, transmitted no feedback or road feel to the driver. In dry weather the Accord was super composed but the standard powertrain Accord has an unquestionably more sporty feel as though it’s begging to be tossed around a bit.

BOTTOM LINE

While the holy grail for hybrids (think Prius) is 50 mpg (4.7 l/100 km) fuel economy, this gets down to the “silly millimeter” difference memorialized in Chesterfield Cigarette commercials decades ago. One or two mpg won’t really matter in real-world driving and the Accord Hybrid gets 2 mpg more in the city than its predecessor.

With solid styling, a reputation for excellent reliability, and what really amounts to what would have qualified for a luxury-car interior just a decade ago, we found the Honda Accord Hybrid a vehicle we would unquestionably want for our very own garage. Perhaps you should consider it for yours, too.
