Volkswagen Reports Higher Sales in October

Volkswagen released financial results for October 2014. The company’s total sales were up 7.8% from October 2013, selling 30,313 units as compared to 28.219 from the previous year.

Just like in September, sales for the all-new Golf saw the biggest increase in sales from the previous October, rising 101.1%. The company sold 2,351 vehicles as compared to 1,169 in October 2013. Sales of the company’s Beetle Coupe and Touareg also saw an increase in sales from the previous year, with Beetle Coupe sales rising 2.5% to 1,345 vehicles sold and Touareg sales rising 5.3% to 578 vehicles sold.

Total sales of the Jetta (including the Jetta SportWagen) came out to 14,607, rising 24.7% from the previous October when 11,710 vehicles were sold.

Volkswagen’s CC model saw the biggest decline in sales dropping 54% while only selling 593 vehicles as compared to 1,289 from October 2013. The company’s Eos also saw a decline in sales dropping 22.6% while 206 vehicles were sold.

Diesel-powered automobiles accounted for 18.2% of sales in October, with 5,513 units sold.
