Porsche Reports Increase in August Sales

DSC_0278Porsche Cars North America announced financial results for August 2014.  The company sold a total of 4,540 vehicles last month, a significant year-over-year increase of 36.5% from 3,327 vehicles sold in August 2013.

Sales of the company’s 911 and 918 models for the month of August totaled 1,030 units sold, up from 769 units sold last August.  The 911 model in particular showed strong performance last month, with a year-over-year increase of 32% from the same month last year.

Sales of the company’s Cayenne model also increased year-over-year to 1,485 units sold from 1,435 units last year.   Meanwhile, sales of Boxster and Cayman and Panamera models both decreased in August.  The company sold 627 Boxster and Cayman vehicles last month, as compared to 669 units sold last August, and sales of Panamera vehicles dropped to 429 units sold from 454 units sold in the same month last year.

The company’s new Macan SUV model, which first entered the market in late 2013, sold 969 vehicles in August.

Sales of Porsche Certified pre-owned vehicles totaled 1,113 vehicles last month, a year-over-year increase of 18.2% from last August.
