Audi’s Q7 TDI SUV, which first joined the Ingolstadt automaker’s lineup in 2007 and is currently its largest vehicle, along with the Volkswagen Touareg, its platform cousin built on the same assembly line in Bratislava, Slovakia, will get a revised 3.0-liter V-6 engine for model year 2013.

The new engine develops 240 horsepower, 15 more than the 2012 model.  Torque remains the same at 406 pound-feet.

The Q7 loses 55 pounds (25 kg) of weight and will see an increase in fuel economy by 2 mpg in the city and 3 highway to 19 and 28, respectively.

The same engine will be in the Porsche Cayenne Diesel, which is slated to arrive in the U.S. next month.
