Because the c has a very short wheelbase (79”), the ride is somewhat choppy on bumpy roads.  We found steering to be quick and precise although the c provides little if any feedback from the road.  Cornering is best done at a leisurely pace.

What we did like is the well-modulated brake pedal that seamlessly manages to blend mechanical and regenerative braking. Other hybrids struggle with this concept, leaving the brake pedal feeling soft and unresponsive, but here Toyota has nailed it.

While the new Toyota Prius and Prius Prime are cars we would highly recommend consideration of, the same cannot be said for the Prius c.  It’s worth looking at if you want a truly tiny city car with four doors but otherwise, buyers would do better with a larger Prius or perhaps a Mazda3.
