The Prime’s body panels were designed to maximize efficiency, as was the front grille and a rear windshield that has a slight dip in the middle to help airflow over and under the car to reduce drag and improve battery life. A carbon-fiber rear hatch saves significant weight and the active grille shutters work to improve aerodynamics.

Inside there’s a supersized new 11.6” capacitive touchscreen display that sits vertically at the top of the center stack and provides significant information about what is going on in the car while underway. Standard features include LED headlights and taillights, heated front seats, and automatic climate control.

We spent two days in the Ojai Valley getting to know the Prius Prime and will have an in-depth review soon. In the meantime, we captured the rather photogenic automobile in a variety of poses in one of the most beautiful parts of the country.
