Porsche Pulls Cayenne Diesel SUV From Market After EPA Targets V6 Models in Investigation
Porsche said Tuesday it was discontinuing sales of the Porsche Cayenne Diesel after the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency announced that it had discovered software that cheats during emissions tests in that model vehicle.
The EPA issued a notice of violation to Volkswagen on Monday stating that Volkswagen Group’s models with V-6 diesel engines “also employ software that circumvents EPA emissions standards.”
“We are working intensively to resolve this matter as soon as possible,” the automaker said in a statement. “Customers may continue to operate their vehicles normally” in the meantime.
On Monday, the German automaker said, “Until this notice, all of our information was that the Porsche Cayenne Diesel is fully compliant.”
