The cars will be available with new interior color options including Tornado Red, Pure White, and Reflex Silver Metallic.

Globally, both models will have three petrol engine options including a 1.2-liter engine, a 1.4-liter engine, and a 2.0-liter engine, all of which comply with the Euro 6 emissions standard. Engine selection will, however, vary by market.

The 1.2-liter engine produces 105 horsepower and gets 42 mpg (5.5 1/100 km), while the 1.4-liter engine develops 150 horsepower and 40 mpg (5.8 1/100 km). The 2.0-liter engine is capable of 220 horsepower and 36 mpg (6.5 1/100 km).

Both the Beetle and Beetle Cabriolet will also have two diesel engine options as well. The entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is capable of 110 horsepower and 54 miles per gallon (4.3 1/100 km), while the more powerful 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine develops 150 horsepower and 51 miles per gallon (4.6 1/100 km).

The Beetle and the Beetle Cabriolet offer the new coasting function, sometimes referred to as “sailing,” that is only available with the dual-clutch gearbox, which senses when there is no acceleration and shifts to neutral, thereby increasing fuel economy.
