Chrysler Sees 20% Increase in July Sales

DSC_0701The Chrysler Group announced financial results for July 2014.  The company’s total U.S. sales for the month increased 20% year-over-year to 167,667 units sold, compared with 140,102 units in July 2013.  Last month marked the company’s 52nd consecutive month of record sales gains, and its best July sales month since 2005.

Chrysler’s Jeep brand saw the largest year-over-year increase in sales at 41%, up to 59,588 vehicles sold from 42,277 last July.  Dodge brand sales also increased by 3% year-over-year to 43,118 units sold from 41,986 in the same month last year.  The company also sold 3,807 Fiat brand vehicles, a year-over-year rise of 1% from 3,783 last July.

Six Chrysler Group models, including the Jeep Wrangler, the Jeep Compass, the Dodge Dart, the Dodge Challenger, the Dodge Journey, and the Ram Cargo Van, all recorded their best July sales to date last month, while the Fiat 500L recorded its highest-ever monthly sales since the brand’s debut in June 2013.

Sales of the new 2015 Chrysler 200 mid-size sedan, which was first launched this May, also increased by 32% from its second month of sales in June.
