Mercedes-Benz Reports 8% Rise in June Sales

Screen Shot 2014-07-01 at 19.14.29Mercedes-Benz announced financial results for June 2014. The company’s total sales for last month increased by 8.2% year-over-year, up to 29,380 vehicles sold from 27,162 in June 2013. It was the best June sales volume in the company’s history.

The increase was led by strong performance in the company’s Mercedes-Benz E- and M-Class models. The E-class model saw the most significant increase in sales, with 6,500 vehicles sold, up 25.5% from last June.  The company also sold 3,891 M-class vehicles in June, a year-over-year increase of 6.6%.  However, sales of C-class models decreased by 26.6% year-over-year, with only 5,607 vehicles sold in June.

The company’s Sprinter Vans and AMG brands also saw increases in sales for June. Sales of Sprinter Vans increased 12% to 2,201 vehicles sold, while sales of the AMG high-performance model totaled 820 vehicles, a large year-over-year increase of 76.7%. The company’s smart car brands sold only 673 vehicles in June however, a drop of 13.8% from the same month last year.

Sales of Mercedes-Benz Certified pre-owned vehicles increased 2.2% in June, up to 7,947 vehicles sold as compared to 7,773 last June.
