DSC_0258It’s an exciting time to be a diesel enthusiast.  While Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, and Volkswagen have been delivering exciting new diesels for many years now, several other car manufacturers, including Porsche and Chevrolet, have recently joined the party.  As a result, there are nearly twice as many diesel options today as there were two years ago.

The growing interest in diesels over the last few years in the U.S. has been substantial, and more people than ever are driving diesel.  Why?  There are many reasons buyers choose diesel-powered automobiles over others.  In past polls, readers have highlighted better-than-average fuel economy, the extra power that comes from a diesel engine’s torque, and high reliability as critical factors in the purchasing decision.

Please tell us what was most influential in your decision to purchase a diesel.  We’ll compile and publish the results in an upcoming article.  In addition, if you have a particularly interesting story relating to your reasons, use this form to tell us about them and we may include your story in our article.

The poll will run through November 1, 2013.
