Poll: Tell Us Why You Purchased a Diesel

Audi, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Volkswagen, all German auto manufacturers, have been controlling the diesel market in the U.S. for quite some time now.

In addition to new diesel models from these veterans, four more car manufacturers, namely Chevrolet, Jeep, Mazda, and Porsche, have joined the U.S. diesel market since our last poll on why drivers buy diesels.

There are several reasons buyers choose diesel-powered automobiles over others. In past polls, readers have explained that their rationale including better-than-average fuel economy, the extra power that comes from a diesel engine’s torque, and greater reliability compared gasoline engines.
