In addition to the world premiere of a line of BMW M Performance diesels, BMW will also present the 116d EfficientDynamics Edition (EDE) and the 125d.

The BMW 116d EDE is a version of the new BMW 1 Series powered by a 116 hp (85 kW) diesel engine with BMW TwinPower Turbo Technology and it’s the most fuel-efficient automobile in BMW’s lineup.

Its average fuel consumption is 3.8 l/100 km (62 mpg) and its CO2 emissions are only 99 grams per kilometer.  It can accelerate from 0-100 km/h (0-60 mph) in 10.5 seconds and it will be the first BMW to be exempt from a variety of emissions and road taxes thanks to its low greenhouse gas output.

The BMW 125d has a 218 hp (160 kW) diesel engine, making it the most powerful diesel in the 1 Series range.

The BMW 116d EDE joins other BMW Efficient Dynamics Edition models including the 320d EDE and the X1 EDE.

No plans have been announced by BMW of North America to import either of these cars.
