I recently rented a Nissan Altima from Hertz at the San Francisco airport for a 3 day rental. I was very unimpressed. The car constantly surged back and forth and felt like the electric motors and gasoline engine were fighting for control.

As far as handling, when coming from the north, the entrance to the airport has a long elevated sweeping curve to the left. I took that curve at a speed similar to what I would have taken it in my one-ton 4WD pickup and the Altima understeered so badly it almost caused me to move into the next lane.

I travel a lot for business, so I rent a lot of different cars. I will never rent one of these again.

PS I also have a 2010 BMW 335D and it is one awesome car. It is fast, luxurious, handles wonderfully, powerful and still gets 34 mpg at 85 mph.
